Sorry to say but it does seem that the efforts of a few, continue to fall on deaf ears, as suggested previously action and high profile attention made public is in my view the only way, we can conclude this injustice.
Ok thanks for the info, however I still feel as if we are negotiating, with cap in hand and begging with these people, in my view does nothing, just received email from Lord Skelmersdale, the Steve Webb correspondence and will post soon.
A bull in a china shop, make waves and already 25 years, not being reasonable, is that enough said, how long are we supposed to live, forever.
Is it me or the wrong impression I get, when dealing with the consortium's dealing with our issues, I definitely feel that the Canadian and Australian effort seems to concentrate on these two countries and we can focus on your frozen pensions after we win over this freezing policy, is there no direct U.K. representation.
Sorry all, our Lord Skelmersdale needs to pull his finger out, nothing as yet. Jj
As soon as received will post !
As mentioned before, have been in contact with Lord Skelmersdale, who in turn wrote to Steve Webb regarding our fight and albeit taking some time to reply, finally returned mail to Lord S. and has promised to forward this to me, he does however still firmly believe that this policy will not be changed any time soon, due to the economics back home and can offer no hope, this site does seem to have slowly died, it seems that only a few visit and still have hope for success, will continue to do my part as long as I can.
Merry Xmas all and lets have some good news for New Year.
Andy I agree with all the below and doing nothing is not an option, I refereed to the video only due not in the idea of course ridicule the British Govt, as they often do themselves but what coverage did it achieve apart from the members of ICBP.
My commitment is the same as all others being discriminated, as a pensioner overseas but also believe that my suggestion regarding a more aggressive approach and the knock on affect, perhaps being arrested, also reading a lot of info regarding police behavior and the U.K. becoming a police state, not wishing to put other people in the firing line.
Success will only be measured once this immoral policy is changed, not how and who changed it.
Thanks Andy, think your right mate, this site does seem to be fairly dormant, but sorry to say the ICBP do not seem to be achieving great strides, making funny videos in my opinion just made a mockery of the issue, oh well keep mailing.John Jones supported this idea ·
Yes Freda and Jane, its a problem to get back to the U.K. and health is always a consideration, however we must have retired family or relatives still living at home that might help our cause, you see Freda I do agree with you, regarding not giving up but we are pensioners and time stops for no one, we need more than eventually, we need now, what about a creation of a fund to assist with the cost, I would either put some money in, or go we have to do more.
Hey, just a thought but if a couple of dozen old fogies like us, did something crazy like chaining themselves to whatever, certainly make waves, might even make the T.V. what say you, worth a trip home and a bit of publicity.
Hello all, still at the emails, refuse to let this continue, if I have to return to the U.K. and chain myself to the House of Parliament offices, hope someone will bail me out, another email contact follows and please lets bombard this Dept. person called Laurie Mousah ( email@example.com ) we are public right, onward march Jj.
Hi all, must admit being in total confusion, after all the hope of some type of recognition from the 2nd reading regarding clause 20, can find no mention on this subject on the recorded debate on file, a lot of congratulations and thanks to Mr. S.Webb and of course a going no where circle of mentioned considerations but to me can find no hope to cling to, someone please prove me wrong.
Hi all, sent the info regarding reciprocal agreements to Lord Skelmerdale and guess what, he replied by saying he was not aware of this but no apology and then went on to say, due to the state quote (of the coppers in the country) the D.W.P. ministers was unlikely to change anything, the money just is not there, what is going on over there.
Hi, if the info I have received is correct than only three Lords are reading the second bill on the 3rd Dec as follows Lord Baife Lord Freud Lord German and the only private email listed is Lord German as follows firstname.lastname@example.org this seems very strange that the list shows only three, that signifies the importance of this reading, get emailing John.
Thanks Chippy, just sent that info to email@example.com perhaps you or anyone wish to contact this Lord.
Hi all, still sending those emails out, as per normal only one reply from a delightful
Lord Skelmersdale, who suggested to us all, make sure where you move has the blessed reciprocal agreement, oh what a joy to have people like this, helping and supporting the cause JOKE, however sure you have used before but this email address has caught my attention, some Dept. involved in overseeing Govt. fairness, as follows firstname.lastname@example.org oh well back to me emails regards John
Hi Fred, just to inform you, since you sending the details for the House of Lords contact, have been merrily sending mail to the select committee, who confirmed the 3rd Dec next reading but not one personal response, including Lord Rix thought with his sense of humor, he of all people would give us his support, persistence will break down resistance, back to my mailing. regards John.
Would be so happy to contact these Lords, once the details are published I will be sending those emails, we need some high profile coverage, keep on fighting for your basic right Thanks John.
Many thanks for all the comments and advise, yes I have visited the sites you mention and continue to contact and do my part to support this vindictive policy, perhaps we should suggest that when the long overdue day comes to celebrate the final victory, the pensions should be back dated to each individual commencement date, when this dinosaur policy becomes extinct, again thanks and will keep on visiting Jj.
Hello Andy, thanks for your input, although my point was the complete nonsense of it all, entitlement non-entitlement, country to country, my own circumstances retired in Thailand due to a couple of old mates also living here, no increase if we move to the Philippines, yes increases allowed, is that open to abuse should one wish to, the obvious correction to this policy is the same rights for all, or is that just to simple.
Hi again, which tongue in cheek leads me to the conclusion, its an absolute nightmare to administrate let alone checking on all those that do not report there holidays abroad and why should they, all we can do is just keep pushing and maybe someone in our life time will see our plight and help, have been emailing and trying to get celebrity support but as always, no one returns my mail, hope your having better luck cheers for now Jj.
Hi, many thanks for your replies, in both cases you are right, we obviously do not sell news papers or seem interesting enough to support, ironic that it will come to all, who chooses to leave at retirement age, which leads me to a question, with this policy in effect does this mean that any pensioners, for what ever reason holiday-family visit-health issues leaves the U.K. that the pension dept. makes the adjustment and restores the correct pension upon return, do we honestly believe this is happening, or are so many pensioners unwittingly breaking the law, the red tape alone and costs, would certainly endorse our sentiment. John.
Hi Fred, so sorry to hear about the death of a colleague, yes the continued refusal of today and previous Govt.s is a blemish on all, my grandfather and father injured and died for justice for all,in two world wars, seems to me that sentiment is long gone, have contacted all the U.K. news papers asking for support but not one reply, contacted my last local M.P. his response, the Govt. has no plans to change its overseas policy on pensions, pathetic we need a Joanna Lumley, she challenged the Govt over the rights of the Gurkha,s and won eventually, is there no one we can turn to, or has the best of this world gone.
Live in the Philippine's no problem increases allowed, live in Thailand oh dear not allowed, bad people, is this joke or what.
The British Govt. use the excuse of reciprocal agreements, kindly explain the definition of this word and you accountants out there who is the least cost to the tax payer, living abroad or at home with all those benefits that role in, i.e. national health, housing pension credits, abroad zero, is this not abuse of human rights, or victimization.
