      Dear Sarah,
Do you think it is a problem if a teacher uses their smartphone constantly in the classroom? My 10 year old goes to a Steiner school without wifi, but his teacher loves her iPhone. Some of the parents would like her to have her phone in flight mode most of the time. Would the teacher's iPhone emissions be unhealthy for our children and what evidence is there for us to present to the teacher as an argument and justification? Thank you very much for your work.

In May 2011 IARC/WHO classified WiFi/electromagnetic radiation as a 2B possible carcinogen. WiFi masts in schools are switched on and radiating all day every day in schools whether children are using laptops or mobile devices or not. There are no switches for the teachers to turn the WiFi off, so there cannot even be some sort of compromise i.e even to use WiFi when needed for genuine educational activities. The designers of the WiFi equipment made very disappointing choices. Schools ought not to make the choice to expose children and teachers all day every day to EMF above parents', students' and teachers' heads but ought to inform all parties about this whole debate and give them a vote .
