No one so far has been identified as the prime mover behind this idiotic scheme. They need to be flushed out and held to account. Who wants he HS2? Big business? Try video-conferencing or simply catching an earlier train if you want to get to Birmingham so desperately. Apart from the vandalising of beautiful country, and the wicked cost of the project at a time of national austerity, the proposed station would dump you on the outskirts of Birmingham leaving you to spend the 20 minutes you have gained on the new train lost in the back of a taxi or a bus on your way to the centre of the city. It's crazy. The siting of the proposed route/station means you simply could not get to the middle of Birmingham any faster than you can at present. This project cannot be a priority for any colour of government. It's going to cost nearly 18 billion pounds. Think how many snow ploughs Mr Hammond could buy with that!
