Demonstrate support for the current Land Reform (Scotland) Bill
The bill was introduced in parliament on 23rd June; http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/parliamentarybusiness/Bills/90675.aspx
I am still getting my head around how the bill differs to the proposals in the consultation document; http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/parliamentarybusiness/Bills/90675.aspx
here is a youtube link to the launch of the bill :https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata&v=K7jaqTOqk0E
Land Reform Minster Aileen McLeod has pledged to end “the stop start nature of historic land reform” with the publication of legislation today.
The Bill is designed to ensure the issues of fairness, equality and social justice connected to the ownership of, access to and use of land in Scotland are given a permanent footing with the creation of a Scottish Land Commission.
Here is a link to a Commonspace article which explains the importance of the bill for the whole of Scottish society in terms of housing, economics and social justice; https://commonspace.scot/articles/1693/campaigners-say-land-reform-bill-just-the-start-of-a-journey-towards-democratisation-of-scotland-s-land
My proposed campaign would aim to show support for the bill and argue that the proposed Scottish Land Commission needs to advance the cause of land reform in Scotland. all suggestions to sharpen the focus/clarify the aims of the campaign are welcome..
