Incentivise Energy Storage in the UK
Without the ability to store energy power production is massively inefficient. GWs of inefficient capacity has to be available to spin up at a moments notice to support a variable supply. Add in large amounts of variable generation such as wind or solar and you compound the problem. The UK needs a system to store energy in batteries, as compressed air, behind damns, as ice or as heat to enable us to utilise thermal generation more efficiently and to eventually replace it with 100% renewable electricity.
