I suggest a campaign about ...

Stop Greyhound Exports to China

The Irish Government plans to export Racing Greyhounds to China, a country which has one of the worst Human & Animal Rights Records in the world.
As an Irish Citzen & UK resident, I am appalled & embarassed to be Irish.
I appeal to all members to support a petition to present to the UK government in order for them to put pressure on the Irish government to abandon these plans.
What with the first ever upcoming visiit by the Queen, (a well-know dog & animal lover), to the Republic of Ireland shortly, an expose would be greatly embarassing to the newly formed coalition Irish Government.
A protest is being organised by Irish Greyhound Rescue in Dublin & the UK based www.greyhoundaction.org.uk, outside the Irish Embassy in London, dates to be announced.
Please help save these gentle & intelligent from a fate worse than death.

Thankyou.

Racing greyhounds in cruel and inhumane; although we appear to accept poor treatment of greyhounds in our society, it is mainly beacause the public are generally unaware of the conditions in which hounds are kept. Please object to sending greyhounds to China.

This vile and barbaric abuse of defencless animals within Ireland must stop. Where Oh where is the spirit of St Francis within the churches today, to allow such horrible abuse to be even considered? All that is cecessary for evil to conquer is that 'good' people say and do nothing.

This cannot happen, it is indefensible and unnecessary. I hope that the Irish Government come to their senses soon and abandon this ridiculous idea.

Please support those who are attempying to persuade the Irish Govt to take action against those wishing to send Greyhounds to a country that is still in the middle ages whose citizens only see animals as creatures to torment for their sick amusement.

Haven't the Irish government done enough to condone the cruelty inflicted on animals in their own country without sending greyhounds to god only knows what fate in China? This is a country (as many have already pointed out) without any thought for human rights, never mind animal rights! Shame on them all in the Irish Government if they tolerate this!!

The Irish greyhound board should hang its head in shame if they send any greyhounds to that cruel country. The industry is failing because decent people realize the cruelty involves so they are trying to line their pockets in a country with no welfare for animals.Disgraceful

We can only hope and pray that enough voices can be raised to express the horror felt at this latest move to boost the ill-gotten gains of the Irish greyhound breeding "industry". that must view this as a pot of gold.awaiting collection.
The various Greyhound welfare organisations must raise awareness both within the UK and Ireland so that every person with an ounce of humanity and feeling may be counted as a vote against any export to China
