Ask the government to release more information about MI5/MI6 complicity in torture
Kenneth Clarke is planning to suppress the release of documents that would help the public to understand the scale of Britain's complicity in torture by third party countries. The government has intervened in the High Court case by paying off those who suffered from torture, and launching an internal inquiry which is likely to keep any further information secret from the general public.
If recent history is anything to go by, this internal inquiry will not lead to reform.
We need to have a full public inquiry to allow the media to report on this properly and for the public to understand exactly why this happened. There is no reason why the documents involved cannot be redacted, if "US security concerns" are the primary reasoning for withholding this information.

Lets not forget that torture is being applied domestically here in the UK against British people. People will find it hard to believe, but there are British people in this country who have been subjected to the same levels of torture as those in camp X. MI5 and Privy council interventions are 'normal' and regular. Lets start to hear about those who have been tortured in England, etc. Then Britain can start breaching to others.

It appears the plans are to permanently prevent courts from releasing any MI5/MI6 documents to the public.
