I suggest a campaign about ...

cutting dangerous medical experiments on animals land fund safer, superior alternative methods

There were 3.6m licensed procedures on animals last year, higher than 5 years ago.
End animal testing on ingredients for cosmetics and household products, reduce the use of animals in scientific research. There is no need or justification for testing on animals.
1m Britons hospitalised each year due to side effects from administered animal tested drugs and prescription medicines. Costing NHS £2 billion. 9 out of 10 drugs tested on animals fail in human clinical trials. There are safe alternatives, using human tissue and computer images.

Yet the FDA and other regulation bodies will not allow these safe alternatives. The way the law stands animal testing is insisted upon. . The science is there. Yet the political will is not there.
Stop funding animal experiments. Move the funding to the superior non-animal tested methods which are ready and available

Should we consolidate our votes to make them count and pick a campaign that best suits the "No Confidence/ General election vote?" I personally feel no confidence says it all and should then lead to a general election.

Animal testing, apart from being morally wrong, does not guarantee the safety of a product. If Alexander Fleming had tested penicillin on Guinnea pigs, we would not have had that life saving drug today. Penicillin is highly toxic and kills Guinnea pigs. Another example is Debendox, which causes birth defects in humans. This was tested on laboratory rats and deemed safe for women to take for pregnancy sickness.

Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally OK to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction. -- Professor Charles R.Magel

It is neigher safe nor ethical to test on animals!

Testing on animals is inhumane. It's not science! If they truly cared for our health they should use the only valid and scientific methods. We are not rats, nor rabbits, we are humans. Vivisectors are humans too, but far from being humane

Thanks for doing this. Such an important issue. The science is there and now it is up to the public to put pressure on the Government.

It is totally irrational to think that animal testing can benefit Humans in any way .
In this the 21st Centuary why hasnt science gone beyond its victorian procedures ?
