I love to see horses and ponies in circuses. Very often they receive a much better standard of training than any in riding schools (to High School level in many cases) and are always kept at grass in boroughs that demand that circuses farm out all their grazing animals. It would be nice to see rescued horses taken on by circuses, trained up to High School level then returned to their sanctuaries for fostering.

I agree. Unless the plastic is biodegradable, what's wrong with paper bags? They're cheap and can be recycled if they're not re-usable.

They could also do more to buy in meat from wild animals that are culled by RSPCA-trained marksmen. In my area (Nottingham) there is a regular supply of venison from local deer parks. Deer are shot with a high-velocity rifle in their normal habitat.

Other EU countries, such as France and Spain, have government-sponsored breeding programmes that are helping to save endangered breeds. There is none in the UK at present. Among the rare British breeds are the Exmoor pony, the hackney horse and the Wensleydale sheep. There are also breeds in other EU countries that could be protected by breeding programmes in the UK.

Has nobody noticed how many people in countries that have been facing war and/or famine for several years still manage to breed? I wonder what these people are thinking about.

I agree in principle but would amend "horses" to "equines" because well-trained mules performing dressage displays, etc. would go a long way to dispelling the myth that they are somehow inferior to horses.
