Save the Awa tribe from extinction.

The Awa tribe in Maranhao in North East Brazil are one of the worlds last hunter gatherer tribes. They have only 335 survivors, 100 whom have never had contact with the developed world.

They are being massacred by gunmen who work for logging companies and ranchers. Chased off their land and shot in the back upon fleeing.

It is our problem because we created it. In 1982 The European Economic Community with money from the World Bank set about extracting Iron Ore from the area, sending 13.6 million tonnes per year for 15 years back to Europe. The development was devastating. Road and rail brought loggers with the miners.

The Awa tribe are being slaughtered for the greed of these corporations. Soon they will no longer exist if we don't help.
