The NHS would save £millions by investigating the cost of inaccurate dispensing of repeat prescriptions by pharmacy staff. According to the Press October 2010 NHS North Yorkshire and York reveal £10m is lost on over-prescribed drugs. Once these drugs have been dispensed incorrectly and are not used they are then destroyed. The cost across the UK must be huge!
