Scrutiny on behalf of the taxpayer of claims for Housing Benefit made by Housing Associations to the Benefit Office.
Housing Associations make false claims for Service charges included in Housing Benefit which are not scrutinised by the Benefits' Office. My own scrutiny has resulted in the Rent Officer reducing the amount claimed by my Housing Association. The tax-payer is being cheated of large sums due to a lack of scrutiny of the charges claimed.
