East Coast Erosion
The erosion of the East Coast of the UK is often in the news due to the many houses and much land dissapearing into the North Sea. This has been occuring for many years as people lose their properties, while Local Authorities and the Governnment standby almost ignoring the problem.
The Government claim it would be too expensive to provide effective coastal defence measures, but they can always find £700 million for a Dome in London, or multi billions for the Olympics.
I wounder what the Dutch Nation would do if their coast was being eroded, and how many of their politicians would dare stand idly by merely measuring the land lost in the past year and predicting where the coastline will be in a few years time.
Yours sincerely,
Mike Langrish.
