Block proposed warrantless monitoring of telecommunications metadata
The government plans to force ISPs and telecoms companies to give GCHQ real-time access to email, web, SMS and telephone traffic metadata without GCHQ needing a warrant. This would let GCHQ spy on the electronic communications of anyone in the UK, without the due process of a court order.
