The Alberta Oil Sands are one of the largest single point sources of greenhouse gases in the world, extracting a barrel of oil produces three times more emissions of greenhouse gases than conventional sources.

Recently the UK Government, lobbied by BP has started supporting the Alberta Oil Sands and Canada wish to import its product into the EU. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/nov/27/britain-canada-oil-sands-idiotic

We oppose the UK Governments support for a country's industry which has already pulled out of its Kyoto commitments and want the UK Government to understand the world wide commitment for reducing carbon by joining the EU countries in banning Alberta Oil Sands oil imports.
