I have been thinking this week about the lottery after a couple won £101 million. I think this amount of prize money going to one person or family is obscene and highly unnecessary. If lottery winnings were capped at say £5 million, with maybe a higher rollover figure of up to £15 million this would free up millions of pounds for community projects. In view of the recent riots it is clear our communities need more funding and more attention. What is one person/family going to do with £101 million? Most normal people's lives would be transformed by £1 million.
