Cut MP pensions
Current MP plans are to cut Teachers and public sector workers' pensions because they are 'unaffordable' and final salary pension schemes 'cannot' exist in the current financial climate... The following is a direct quote from parliamentary documents: Members of Parliament belong to the parliamentary pension scheme - a final salary scheme with
a choice of accrual rates. MPs can choose to contribute at 1/40th, 1/50th or 1/60th. It is a
contributory pension with the contribution rates set at 11.9%, 7.9% and 5.9% respectively.
It is only fair that if they are proposing a cut to our pensions they should have theirs reviewed too.
