The privatisation of trains has led to ever increasing train fares as the Government alleviated themselves of what should be a public service, contributing to the countries economy. The price of trains has continually increased and the service timetables often reduced as well as staff in favour of impersonal and often difficult to use ticket machines. Now there are proposals to increase off-peak fares by nearly a third and reliant commuters should not stand for it!
