Ensuring that Political Campaigns are accountable and are legally bound to be truthful.
When looking for someone to complain to about the questionable claims and strategies of the "No2AV" campaign I was surprised to find that there is no independent body which governs political campaigns/adverts whatsoever.
The Advertising Standards Agency has been unable to investigate political adverts since 1998, whilst the Electoral Commission does not rule upon wording or content of campaign material.
Whilst I understand the need for free speech, politicians and their parties and campaigns should still be required to remain truthful when making their case to the public... and there is currently a HUGE loophole which does not require them to be truthful at all.
