Banning page 3 because it is sexist and inappropriate.
What is the point in Page 3? It doesn't give you news about what's going on in the world does it? What if a younger person gets hold of it and sees it? But of course, it would be different if it was a naked man, wouldn't it.-It would already be out of the newspaper. Its a disgrace.
what is the point? it sells, a lot of men like it. (i personally prefer to buy my pornography and news in seperate volumes - but the hybrid model would be appealing if it had better news stories.
and 7yo kids are not shocked by naked ladies (unless they are acting funny as well maybe). fascinated at most. shocking btw, is not the same as emotional scarring. sadly the world is shocking - page three might be a rather pleasant shock compared to the other pages - and i'm afraid it serves little purpose to prevent our children from getting exposed to (sad) reality.
on the newsworthiness of the sammy's new cup size: the rest of the paper doesn't give you much news either. and neither do gardening magazines. the sun and specifically page three are just not where you turn to if you really want to read the news.
cant people just accept that this is not a regular newspaper.
banning it is preposterous.
we can shelve it high or put it in the adult section though.

As long as there is a demand for page 3 it will continue to exist. Personally I don't see the point in page 3 and wouldn't be upset to see it go but trying to ban it just gives them free advertising. Trying to "protect the children" in this way is a waste of time though. Lets face it if they are interested in seeing naked pictures they are going to find them on the internet anyway. I regard page 3 a bit like reality TV. there is no point complaining about it as long as lots of people insist on watching it.

Something needs to be done, I remember picking it up and seeing that aged 7. No innocent child wants that thank you very much, things like this makes us grow up to quick, and your the ones complaining.

While I personally think that page 3 is a bit tacky, so is the rest of the sun - I suggest that it simply be held to the same standards as any other pornographic material - that is, it be put on the top shelf and sale restricted to 18+.
An actual ban is going too far, unless of course you believe in a ban on all pornography? In which case, you are a very closed-minded individual.

If we banned page 3 would all newspapers be limited to two pages? Or would they go straight to page 4?
