Why is it that the government want to “mess” with our back holidays? If they think 1 extra day later in the year would be so beneficial, why can’t they just give us 1 more bank holiday (we would still have the least in Europe!) their argument that one extra day off would hit productivity is a bit lame, as most people work better after a rest!

Beltane/Labour day is far more important than trafalgar, it's no substitute you only have to read up to see that, it's like trying to move Christmas day to christians.

The Spring May Day tradition ( and Jack in the Green festival) is part of our culture and should not be changed to the anniversary of a battle!

Many towns villages and areas have comminty events that are now traditional or revived from original May Day holidaya. All of this would be lost if the day was in October. One can't have a spring festival in October!

This has to be stopped, how dare politicians think they have the right to make decisions about an important day without consultation of any kind? If they want to acknowledge Trafalgar day, make October 21st a Bank Holiday, by all means, but dont dare touch the traditional May day Holiday, also known as Labour Day
