Ministers are proposing meat and products from cloned animals should be allowed to enter the marketplace without even a label to identify them as such.

There are well known animal welfare issues, it is inferring with nature and playing god and it is far to early to proclaim our consuming cloned products safe.

If this is allowed to go ahead it is open a gate which can never be closed again. Once cloned animals become lost in amongst uncloned animals and offspring have unknown heritage there will be no way in reversing the decision if dangers become apparent in the future.
