stiff sentences for those who target the elderly
This proposal is directed at those who target & commit crimes against the elderly. It would be mandatory anyone convicted of such crimes to receive a harsh jail sentence with compensation to the victim being paid by the offender.
Is it not a basic human right for those at the end of their lives to live free from the fear of being victimised because of their age?

We are in a time when 'Baby Boomers' are now reaching their golden years in record numbers. Too often, the news carries reports of pensioners being the target of unscrupulous persons who have no compunction in using violence against the elderly, often causing life threatening injury and psychological damage.
Because of this, the UK needs strict laws which will see anyone who is convicted of a crime against the elderly to be penalised heavily to send the message crimes against the elderly will not be tolerated.
